| A 20 -year-old from Columbia, Sarah French, was crowned the 2006 Miss Missouri. She was Miss Mid-Missouri in the preliminary round of competition. The first runner up, recipient of a $3,500 scholarship, was Miss River City, Erin Bell. The second runner up, recipient of a $2,500 scholarship, was Miss Metro St. Louis, Jamie Moran. The third runner up, recipient of a $1,750 scholarship, was Miss Columbia Leslie Bramlett. The fourth runner up, recipient of a $1,250 scholarship, was Miss Maryville Lauren Stathem. The 31 contestants in the pageant earned more than $26,000 during the week-long competition. The new Miss Missouri will compete in the Miss America Pageant later this year. This was the 71st Miss Missouri pageant, and the 36th pageant to be held in Mexico. |
